Annotto Bay Storm Surge Hazard

Projects » Annotto Bay Storm Surge Hazard

PROJECT DETAILS

ODPEM (Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management), as a part of their mandate to assist communities with disaster readiness contracted the services of CEAC Solutions to prepare storm surge hazard report for Annotto Bay. Annotto bay is on the north eastern coast of Jamaica in the parish of St. Mary. The town is situated in a low-lying area (varying in elevations from 1 to 3 metres typically above Mean Sea Level) which is prone to flooding both from overland storm water flows and storm surge from the sea. The study entails conducting topographic and bathymetric surveys, storm surge modelling and erosion hazard modelling, collection of anecdotal information, preparing inundation maps and defining mitigation measures.
