Job Summary
CEAC is a leading engineering firm with a presence in the Caribbean providing natural hazard and shoreline protection designs to a range of government and non-government clients. The candidate will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects with a concentration in protections, nourishment and coastal structures that will involve data collection , analyses, engineering designs, numerical modeling, report preparation, permitting, and construction engineering services.
Principal Responsibilities
- Undertake research and consulting projects with a focus on coastal and estuarine hazards, sea-level rise, coastal structure designs, shoreline stabilization and coastal risk exposure to address to achieve adaptation to coastal climate change.
- Apply analytical, modelling and data analysis skills, to a broad range of coastal hazard and climate-change adaptation projects
- Work closely with colleagues to translate science and climate change and sea-level rise projections into workable and adaptive approaches to reduce future risks to coastal and estuarine communities and infrastructure
Education and Experience
- Master’s Degree in Coastal Engineering or related field
- Previous experience with hydrodynamic or climate-ocean modelling, sea-level rise and storm surge analysis, wave hindcasting and nearshore wave transformation
- Working knowledge of DEFLT or MIKE suite of programs or similar, ArcGIS, hydrographic surveys (multi-beam, side-scan, etc.), climate change data
