In the development of oil and gas fields, the dispersion of chippings and oil spills from both drilling and production phases is a key concern. A large hydrodynamic model of the east cost of Trinidad and Tobago was developed. An oil spill model was also developed and the possible effects of hydrocarbon spills at two drilling locations were investigated. The spreading of chippings from the drilling of the two wells was also investigated using a sediment plume model.
