The Palisadoes strip was eroded during Hurricanes Ivan and Dean. Erosion and infrastructure damage occurred on both the seaward and the harbour sides of the Palisadoes strip. CEAC was commissioned to design and supervise emergency works until the permanent works were installed. The challenge was to be cost effective and not prejudice the permanent works that were being planned but still provide some level of protection to the main artery to the airport. CEAC undertook designs and contract administration.
