Petrojam Seawall Rehabilitation

Projects » Petrojam Seawall Rehabilitation

PROJECT DETAILS

Petrojam Limited, Jamaica’s main oil refinery, is located on the north-western section of the Kingston Harbour and was undergoing some level of erosion. The presence of a 16” Heavy Fuel Oil (HFO) pipeline that runs along the shoreline was a cause for concern. There existed coastal protection measures previously implemented which have outlived their useful life.

CEAC was commissioned to provide technical assistance. The services rendered by CEAC included: conceptualizing civil and coastal protection designs, obtaining regulatory approvals, assisting with the procurement processes and providing contract administration. The project consisted of a 136m-long armoured rock revetment and retaining wall.
