Jamaica Social Investment (JSIF) – Design & Supervision of the Construction of Shoreline Protection Works for Port Royal Street, Kingston

Projects » Jamaica Social Investment (JSIF) – Design & Supervision of the Construction of Shoreline Protection Works for Port Royal Street, Kingston

PROJECT DETAILS

Port Royal Street is an integral part of the east-west corridor transportation network in the Kingston Metropolitan Area. The coastline has experienced moderate to severe erosion since Hurricane Ivan (2004). The consequences of any road failure are of national interest; considering the volume of daily traffic and location.

CEAC Solutions was commissioned to conduct surveys and coastal modelling, engineering drawings and monitoring of the construction phase of the project. All designs were done considering the impacts of climate change to ensure the revetment structure will be resilient to sea level rise and wave climate throughout its minimum design life.
