Kintyre Bridge

Projects » Kintyre Bridge

PROJECT DETAILS

The National Works Agency (NWA), in its efforts to mitigate against flooding events and the loss of the existing infrastructures (bridge, residences etc) commissioned CEAC to plan and design the opening and channel and bank protection works for the Hope River/Kintyre bridge. The previous Kintyre fording is ineffective during heavy rains and in 2011 was destroyed leaving residents separated on either side and in the loss of homes. An assessment of the hydrologic and hydraulic attributes of the Hope River and subsequent proposed flood protection works for adjacent residences as well as the proposed Kintyre Bridge has been done by CEAC.
