Silver Sands Jetty Rehabilitation Project

Projects » Silver Sands Jetty Rehabilitation Project

PROJECT DETAILS

Silver Sands is located on the north coast of Jamaica in Duncans Bay, Trelawny. The existing jetty at property has experienced toe failure over the years resulting in severe degradation and failure along the structure. In an attempt to restore the jetty, the solution requires the rehabilitation of the jetty; this would comprise retrieval of stones from the seafloor and placement of new stones where necessary. The client further contracted CEAC to design and project manage the rehabilitation and extension of the existing the gazebo. The armour design of the jetty was guided by numerical modelling paired with physical modelling conducted in CEAC’s wave flume.
